Kretschmer Wheat Germ Review and Giveaway! 10/10-10/17

When my contact from Kretschmer contacted me about doing a review for wheat germ I was a little hesitant to say yes because I had never even heard of wheat germ before she had contacted me. So I looked it up online and found out that it was a healthy substitute for things like flour so I decided to do the giveaway mostly because I knew it would give me an excuse to try out a new baking recipe!

So before I go over how my experience with wheat germ went I would like to share some interesting information from the Kretschmer website to help get your curiosity going!

- "wheat germ offers a significant dose of vitamins, minerals and protein."
- Wheat germ is the vitamin filled part of the wheat plant but it is taken out during the process of making flour.
-It is full of vitamin E, folic acid, magnesium, thiamin, phosphorus, zinc and protein.

Do you not even know anything you could make with wheat germ? That's ok because there website is loaded with delicious recipes. They also provide a chart that shows ways you can substitute wheat germ into any recipe to make them healthier.

I decided to use my wheat germ with an oatmeal cookie recipe. I found one online and all I had to do was replace half of the flour in the recipe with an equal amount of wheat germ. It was as simple as that and the cookies turned out amazingly! You can even toast the wheat germ in an oven and add it to a recipe and it will give whatever you have made a little bit of a crunch!

I told my visiting teacher about my experience with wheat germ and she told me that her husband loves to top his yogurt with wheat germ in the morning to give it a little more flavor and texture!

I am really glad that I agreed to do this review because it has added something new and exciting to my kitchen that I am sure to use in every baking recipe!

Great news! My contact from Kretschmer told me they want me to host a giveaway for one of my readers to win 2 jars of wheat germ! That is a lot of cookies ;) Enter below for your chance to win and head over to their website and social media sites for more information on this awesome product!
